About Hexian

Hexian is my creative home

It began as gifts for loved ones, pieces for ritual and dance adornments hand stitched before ceremony or performance. Over time, it became a space to weave together all the parts of myself that once lived separately.  The maker, the dancer, the seed planter, the one who listens to wind, water, fire and stone

In the studio, I work slowly. Joining and shaping metal, sorting through stones, following patterns of inspiration usually arriving in midnight hours or immersed in nature. Some items feel like they’ve lived before, others feel wholly new. Each piece is created with intention, made to be worn, used, and treasured

This project holds many threads, a devotion to the craft, a lifelong connection to nature, fascination with the stars, the rhythms of dance and a deep respect for the unseen

It doesn’t feel like a brand to me. It’s how I connect to the world, through metal, through stone, through stories told with my hands. I follow threads of inspiration, not always knowing the source, but deeply grateful to be weaving the tapestry

I hope the things I make, find the people who need them, and I dream they will still be worn, carried, and cherished long after I’m gone

With love and intention,

Alys Shilo
