Lapis Lazuli

Stone of ancient wisdom

Lapis lazuli carries one of the oldest artistic and spiritual lineages in human history. Quarried for more than six thousand years in the mountains of Afghanistan, it travelled along early trade routes to Egypt, Sumer, Persia, and the Indus Valley. It was crushed for pigment to create ultramarine, the sacred blue reserved for gods, queens, manuscripts, and the deep mysteries of antiquity

Its golden flecks come from tiny inclusions of pyrite, forming natural constellations across the stone’s midnight body. Ancient cultures saw these as stars held within a sky of blue. In Egypt, lapis was placed over the third eye in burial rites to guide the soul toward clarity and remembrance. In Mesopotamia, it was carved into seals that marked truth and sacred agreements

Lapis supports clear vision and inner authority. It encourages thoughtful expression, honest communication, and a steady relationship with one’s own insight. A stone of wisdom carried through millennia, it reminds the wearer to move with integrity and speak from a centred, lived truth
