About the Artist

I grew up along the banks of the Murrumbidgee river, Wiradjuri Country, southwest New South Wales. Among ancient red gums and coarse, sun-burnt sand, I learned to listen, to water, to trees and to the layered sounds of the natural world

My grandmother taught me to sew, to be resourceful, to make things well and make them last. She is strong, practical, and doesn’t waste a thing. That spirit stayed with me

For over a decade, I worked in nature conservation, restoring native ecosystems and learning the language of plants and place. This work continues now in a quieter way, through art, through landcare and through the way I walk on the earth

Music has been my companion for as long as I can remember. Music walks beside me always, a melody accompanying joy, grief, and everything in between. Dance is my response. Through movement, I’ve learned to honour my emotions, embrace my femininity, and return to myself. So many years… so many genres!

I’ve been blessed with many mentors who helped shape my hands and sharpen my eyes.  Patient knowledge keepers who shared their wisdom of crystals, metalwork, plant lore, stitchwork, dance, and grounded forms of witchcraft. Their influence lingers in all I create

In this chapter, my partner and I are custodians of a wild forest on Bundjalung Country in the Byron Bay hinterlands. This sanctuary offers peace, strength, and endless inspiration. It’s here Hexian came into being, as a tapestry of my life’s threads. Each item is made slowly, with care, and carries something of the land that holds me

I hope the objects that leave my hands feel like they were seeking you… to wear, to hold, to carry with you on your path, softly charged by this wild land
